The day before portfolio day I gathered my pieces of art and sketch book and bought a large black portfolio bag. I wasn’t necessarily interested in any of the schools there, but I wanted to get some feedback and get an idea of what the reviewers thought of my art. The only school I planned on seeing was Virginia commonwealth, which was suggested to me asĀ good school for painting.
When walking in I was surprised by how unlively the place seemed to be. Nobody looked excited or enthusiastic about the event, even though many were students working to go to some of the best art schools reviewing there. I was amazed that some schools had several lines, each for upper classmen and under classmen. At that age I barely knew anything about art schools. I visited several booths for schools. Most of the schools I visited, I wasn’t impressed with. I don’t feel as if they gave me adequate feedback, they themselves, didn’t seems enthusiastic.
